GET INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Business owners, full-time residents, and second-home owners are all vital members of the community on the West Side of the Lake of the Ozarks. They all play a vital role in helping the community grow and thrive.

There are so many ways to get involved with the community, no matter how much time to have to devote.

VOLUNTEER:

One of the best ways to get involved and meet people is to volunteer. There are many opportunities to do this on the West Side of the Lake to get you and your business noticed.

There are local churches, schools, and organizations, such as an animal shelter, that can always use the extra help during the course of the year.

The Lake West Chamber of Commerce sponsors an annual road clean-up in the Spring, and volunteers are always needed for this event. This year, the clean-up will be Saturday, April 2nd from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. You can find the information for this on our website.

LOCAL EVENTS:

Keep an eye out for local events happening in the area. The Lake West Chamber of Commerce hosts events all year long, ranging from holiday parades, pub crawls, golf tournaments, and much more. Attending these festivities is a great way to meet your neighbors and learn about this exciting area that is great for both work and play!

DONATE:

Donating your time is a great way to get involved, however, with a busy, hectic schedule, time is not always an option. Donating items to a local charity is also a fantastic way to get involved and give back to the community. There are local thrift shops, shelters, and organizations that need clothing, food, bedding, and household items to help people in need during their time of crisis. Libraries could always benefit from gently used books for children’s reading programs.

SUPPORT LOCAL SPORTS TEAMS:

Attending a local sporting event on the West Side of the Lake is a great way to be involved with the youth in the community. There is nothing better for a young athlete than to hear the roar from the crowded stands, cheering them on.

If you are a business owner, consider sponsoring a local team, whether they are youngsters, or adults getting together for a friendly, competitive league.
