ENJOY THE LAKE AREA IN THE WINTER MONTHS!
The Lake of the Ozarks is known for your summer destination to enjoy “fun in the sun” activities like boating, swimming, water skiing, golf, and more. However, there are many reasons to visit this beautiful area in the winter months as well!
The Lake West Chamber of Commerce is proud to let you know about our beautiful area and the fun things to enjoy this time of year!
ICE SKATING:
Yes … there is a beautiful outdoor ice-skating rink to bundle up the family and hit the ice. You can take a break and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and a snack before visiting their Christmas Village which is open from Thanksgiving through Christmas … a great way to get in the holiday spirit!
HIKING:
The Lake of the Ozarks boasts some spectacular hiking trails that can be enjoyed year long to help stay in shape during the holiday months, when cookies and goodies become one of the major food groups!
CAVES:
Missouri is known for its many stunning caves, and the Lake of the Ozarks is home to four of them. These caves are open-to-the-public caves, and three of them are open year-round to explore the intricate and beautiful formations created by nature.
FISHING:
Fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks is good no matter what time of the year you visit, but December is one of the best months for Crappie! According to a local fishing guide, the crappies school up and can be found in coves and along docks!
DINING & ENTERTAINMENT:
Eat, drink and be merry at one of the many local restaurants and bars. There is cuisine offered from Mexican to Italian and everything in between. These locally owned establishments feature spectacular dishes and beverages that will bring you coming back for more!
There are local wineries, and breweries to visit and sample their offerings, and local entertainment can be found at various locations in the area!
SHOPPING:
The Lake of the Ozarks offers shopping of anything imaginable. There are big box stores of course, but the best places to find unique items are the many locally-owned shops and boutiques in the area – enough to make a full day of it!
FAMILY FUN ACTIVITIES:
Got some bottled-up energy? Let’s get jumping! There is an indoor trampoline park for both kids and adults to enjoy when you are feeling stir-crazy.
There are indoor pools and water parks to enjoy, as well as an indoor go-kart track.
