Reel One In At Our Kids Fishing Derby

September is almost here, which means prime fishing season is upon us! We are getting excited about the upcoming Kids Fishing Derby put on by the Lake West Chamber. We LOVE getting involved with the youth in our community. After all, they are the future of our beautiful area! This fishing tournament is all about the kids, so take a look below to get the details on the Kids Fishing Derby coming up soon, September 12th!

All About the Kids Fishing Derby:

This is a great opportunity to take part in a free kid’s fishing event for all anglers from ages 1 to 14. This year will be the Lake West Chamber 10th Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby on Sunday, September 12th, 2021, at Captain Ron’s. This free event is made possible by our wonderful sponsors: Captain Ron's, Renken Law Firm, Ozark Bait and Tackle, Season to Season Outdoors; the Tiered Members of the Lake West Chamber. We would like to give a special thanks to the many volunteers who help with event set up, registration and donation of supplies and prizes, so that each child who participates receives a prize. Awards will be given in all four age categories.   • Kids Fishing Derby Rules:
  • Must bring a life jacket for each child
  • Must bring a rod and reel for each child (bait is provided)
  • Child must be accompanied by a parent or adult
  • Fishing allowed from Captain Ron's docks or by the shoreline only

This is a fun way to get your kids involved in fishing. It's FREE and FUN! Whether your kids love fishing, or it is their first time casting a line, this tournament is a great learning opportunity for all. Bring your kids out for a fun day of fishing and getting outside! We look forward to providing a free and exciting activity for your little fishers!

Now that you know all about the upcoming Kids Fishing Derby in Sunrise Beach, MO, you are ready to make plans to attend. Registration for the derby begins at 12:00 pm, and the tournament runs from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Snag a bite to eat at Captain Ron's Bar & Grill or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on your own!
