Forget Me Not Horse Rescue

Their mission is "to provide aid and sanctuary to abused, neglected, abandoned or surrendered horses that come to us. We work with law enforcement and other agencies in their efforts to rectify situations in which horses are in peril, and provide horses in our Sanctuary with needed medical care and proper nutrition."

Forget Me Not "provides a safe and secure environment where horses can heal emotionally and physically. Where they can transition to the next phase of their life – as a permanent resident here or in a pre-approved forever home."

Laurie/Sunrise Beach Rotary Club

The Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club maintains an active involvement in the community. Each year our club provides scholarships to local colleges or vocational/technical school-bound high school students. Our Club is also involved in the yearly Rotary Student Exchange Program, providing housing and support to an incoming student from another country.

Each year the club also sponsors a local high school sophomore or junior to attend a three-day leadership training program at the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. The curriculum provides hands-on experience emphasizing citizenship, service to others, communication techniques, personal awareness and growth, and leadership skills."

Citizens Against Domestic Violence

"CADV/VOC, established in 1984, is a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention, shelter, advocacy, and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence. The highly committed Board of Directors, staff and volunteers provide the information, tools, resources, and support that empower victims to make and sustain positive choices in their lives. These changes lead to the happiness and security of a life free from violence."

Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter

Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter is a non-profit no-kill shelter that takes in various stray, lost, abandoned, or surrendered dogs and cats. They rely solely on the proceeds from their thrift store and the kindness and donations of the public to care for the animals.

They are not city or state funded and all donations are tax deductible. They rescue approximately 600+ dogs and cats per year and help countless others through community programs. Donations can change the lives of so many animals who would otherwise not have a chance.

Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity's vision: "A world where everyone has a decent place to live."

"Since becoming an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1997, (they) have helped low-income families living in sub-standard housing achieve their dream of home ownership. ... (They) encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin."

Kids Harbor

"Kids’ Harbor, Inc. is a child advocacy center serving the Lake of the Ozarks area in Central Missouri, Fort Leonard Wood, and surrounding areas. This agency assists victims of child abuse and their safe caregivers as they make their way through the difficult and often frightening process of a child abuse investigation.

Services are provided, at no cost, to children, ages 0-18, who are referred by Children’s Division of Missouri Department of Social Services, Juvenile Authorities, and /or Law Enforcement. Most referrals involve reports of sexual abuse but also include physical and emotional abuse as well as physical and medical neglect, witnesses to violence and drug endangered children."
