Ways to Help Local Businesses!
With everything that is going on around us, the stress can leave us with a lot of confusing feelings. When will this all be over? Is there anything we can do to help? While there is a lot of uncertainty right now, there is also a lot of opportunity for us to work together to continue to support our local businesses, even from a distance. Lake West Chamber has several tips to share with you on how you can help local Lake businesses during this time. Read on to learn more!
Most restaurants have been able to change their operations essentially overnight to be able to offer their great food for curb-side pickup or delivery. Still enjoy your favorite establishments by giving them a call and placing an order that you can pick up from the safety of your car! You can still practice social distancing and stay safe while also supporting local businesses by ordering takeout from local restaurants.
Several restaurants have had to close their doors due to the ongoing virus in order to help protect all of us. Help support them and their staff during this time by purchasing gift cards. Not only will it help the restaurants continue to pay their employees, but then you can schedule a fun or romantic evening out with your gift card once this is all over.
It might be easy to forget to tip when you're doing curb-side pickup at your favorite restaurant because it's not something you normally do. You're used to tipping the delivery drivers and waitstaff that serve your table, but curb-side pickup is a relatively new experience for most of us. A lot of waitstaff depend on tips to pay their bills, and some restaurants are using tips to continue to support their staff that they have temporarily laid off.
If you have an event scheduled at a restaurant or event venue, don't cancel! Instead, reschedule your event for a new date. Not only will this help secure your date for when everything reopens, but it will also help local event businesses feel more secure and stable with events still scheduled on their calendar.
Your favorite local businesses would love to hear from you during this time. Find them on social media if you haven't already and engage with their pages to show them you're still there and supporting them. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn... give them a follow, like their posts, and leave a helpful review so others can find them when their business gets back into the swing of things.
