As the promoter of businesses on the West Side of the Lake of the Ozarks , we want to share a few details about this exciting upcoming event! Small Business Saturday happens every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was a campaign started in 2010 by American Express. It was intended to assist small business owners to promote their products and wares, and to gain exposure in the community! In 2011, Washington State mayors, senators, and governors shared their support, and it became an official day to be recognized! Small business owners were offered free, personalized ads to advertise on the web. This was a service offered by American Express in 2012, which boosted sales to an estimated $5.5 billion nationwide. The parade route begins at Central Bank in Laurie and heads north where it ends at the Laurie Mall on Highway 5.
