Lake of the Ozarks West Chamber is your source for events and happenings on the Lake of the Ozarks Westside. August 2nd and 3rd we hope you can make it out to the Laurie Fairgrounds for the 27th Annual Laurie Hillbilly BBQ Cook-Off. This annual event is fun and family-friendly, so bring the whole crew and check out the BBQ Cook-Off Competition! Enjoy two fun-filled days of eating and cooking at the beautiful Laurie Fairgrounds, located between Camdenton and Versailles on Hwy. 5, on the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks.

All About the Lake of the Ozarks Region State Champion Cook-Off
The 27th Annual Laurie Hillbilly BBQ Cook-Off will be located at the Laurie Fairgrounds, between Camdenton and Versailles on Hwy. 5, on the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks. We hope you will be joining us for two fun-filled days of eating and cooking at what we think is one of the most beautiful fairgrounds in Missouri. If you are registered to compete in the Cook-Off, you could win some of the $6775.00 in cash prizes, trophies, and ribbons that have been provided for winners of this competition.If you are a lucky BBQ Cook-Off Contestant, your entry fee includes both Friday and Saturday nights. The city of Laurie is willing to work with contestants if they would like to come in before Friday night; the city also has secure areas where you may leave your smokers and other equipment if you choose to stay longer to enjoy our beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. This year, you may sell your BBQ to the public! The city of Laurie will be setting up and advertising Friday night as the time for this to happen. If you want to sell your fantastic bar-b-que, make sure to apply for a Morgan County Food Vendor permit before the contest. Contestant Groups:
The Kid’s Q contest will have 2 age groups: 5-10 years of age, and 11-15 years of age. There will be meat supplied to the cooks for the Kid’s Q Contest. Pork chops will be furnished for the cooks in the younger age group and steaks will be furnished for cooks in the older age group. Watchers will be at the cook sites by 9:15am, with turn in at 10:00am.Adult turn in will begin at 12:00pm for the first category (chicken), following the KCBS turn in schedule. The awards ceremony for winners of the cash prizes, trophies, ribbons and certificates is scheduled to start at 4:00pm in the Happy Holler.
Prizes:
Cash prizes totaling $6775.00 will be awarded to the winners from 1st to 10th place. The Grand Champion will win $1000.00 cash and a banner, Reserve winner will win $750.00 and a banner, and the 1st Reserve winner will win $500.00 and a banner. A Trophy will be given to the top-scoring local team (contestant who lives within a 50-mile radius).There will also be a raffle for a free entry for the 2020 contest. Tickets may be purchased at the event for $1.00 each.

KCBS Sanctioned
Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctions the Laurie Hillbilly BBQ Cook-Off. The KCBS representatives are Ed & Donna Young. ALL KCBS rules apply. The winner of this contest will be invited to go to the American Royal and is entered in the Jack Daniels contest lotto.
