Excellent Golfing Opportunities
Not only does the Lake of the Ozarks boast 16 golf courses, but they are all located within beautiful scenic settings. Many of the courses are carved out of rock bluffs and forests and set against a backdrop of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. These challenging but fun courses are a hit with many who visit the lake. Not only are there many opportunities to golf for yourself, but there are always plenty of golf tournament occurring at the Lake of the Ozarks throughout the year. Many of the tournaments are for cash prizes or benefit area charities. In fact, Lake of the Ozarks West Chamber will be hosting a golf tournament this summer on Sunday, June 9th, at Indian Rock Golf Club. If you are visiting the Lake of the Ozarks in the summer, you will not be able to leave without experiencing the water. Whether it’s navigating the lake in a boat, coving out with friends, tubing, water skiing, or another water sport, you are sure to find something you love to do on the water! If you are an avid fisherman, there are always spots on the water and from the shore to catch that big one. Or maybe you are more of one to view the beautiful lake from a cozy vacation rental. Either way, the Lake of the Ozarks is the focal point of all activities in the area.If you are looking for water activities that are off the lake, there are many pools and public beaches, as well as an outdoor waterpark for the public to visit!
Lake Area Attractions
If you are looking to explore other lake area attractions, try heading down toward the south side of the lake area and stopping in Camdenton to visit Bridal Cave. This historic cave is great for touring on a hot day – it remains a constant 60 degrees on the inside year-round! Located on the same side of the lake is Ozarks Amphitheater, an outdoor venue that hosts concerts and events all summer long! If you want to experience some more unique family fun, visit the Lake of the Ozarks’ north side and walk up and down the Bagnell Dam Strip. There are many bars, restaurants, unique shops, and activities located up and down the strip. Whether you are looking for home-made fudge, or want to get some old time photos taken, the strip has it all in terms of family fun!On and Off-Water Dining Opportunities
If you are looking for fine dining, there are many wonderful restaurants located all over the lake area, all of which have a wide range of prices and of atmospheres. Want to dine on the water? You can do that, too! Captain Ron’s is just one of the many on-water restaurants you can visit while vacationing at the Lake of the Ozarks. Take the kids to get ice cream or a soda at some of the many shops around the area. The Lake of the Ozarks also offers several wonderful wineries to visit.
