History of St. Patrick's Day St. Patrick - the patron saint of Ireland - was a real person born in the fourth century. When he was just 16, he was kidnapped and taken as a slave to Ireland. He escaped, but then came back to try and convert the Irish people to the Christian faith. The Lake West Chamber of Commerce is pleased to once again host and sponsor the Lake West Business Expo . This year’s Expo is going to be a great one, and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store. Our mission is to build a stronger economy and a better business community, and we’ve been doing so since 1987. We represent businesses along highway 5, including the cities of Laurie, Sunrise Beach, Gravois Mills, and the Greenview area. Many of these wonderful businesses will be featured in this year’s Business Expo - the only product & services event on the West Side of the Lake of the Ozarks.
